ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Systems Engineer: Applications: 30% • Update Fiserv CBS program code as mandated by the Bank Operations Department or Fiserv Technical Support. • Write, test, and install core system programs on an as-needed basis, in accordance with the Bank’s change management policies and procedures. Current languages available are RPG, CL, and COBOL. • Provide technical and testing support for core system application and utility software, including Fiserv CBS, Unisource BCAS, LXI TMS, Help Systems’ software, etc. • Provide technical support for the Bank’s EFT environment. • Update FISERV CBS program code as mandated by the Bank Operations Department or Fiserv Technical Support. Operations: 30% • Respond to trouble calls from the Computer Operations, Technical Support, and the Help Desk. • Support and configure iSeries Access for the workstations in the computer room. • Install, configure, and support software to implement the various data transmissions that take place between the Bank and outside organizations. • Maintain the information and physical security according to the Bank’s applicable policies & procedures. • Support and configure iSeries Access for the Bank in general. • Support the statement printing process from the Core system through the post-processing programs and the COLD system to the printers and other output media. • Serve as technical liaison to in support of Central Services and Computer Operations. • Function as backup to Systems Support Analyst, when they’re not available, in administration of Help Systems’ and LXI utility programs. • Maintain policies and procedures using MS Excel, MS Word, and Zavanta. Systems: 30% • Install new releases of core system application and utility software, including Fiserv CBS, Unisource BCAS, LXI TMS, software, etc. Support the Systems Support Analyst when they install fixes and updates to Help Systems’ software. • Interface with Software vendors, such as Fiserv, Unisource, or LXI, and contract programmers, on technical issues. • Support the Network connectivity from the core system point of view to the Bank's LAN/WAN Network. • Maintain and test the core system portion of the Bank's computer disaster recovery plan. • Diagnose problems in the core system, seeking technical assistance when appropriate. • Install new releases of core system application and utility software, including Fiserv CBS, Unisource BCAS, LXI TMS, software, etc. Support the Systems Support Analyst when they install fixes and updates to Help Systems’ software. • Under supervision, install, monitor, and update core operating system on the Bank's core system computers. • Maintain the core system security structures and reporting processes. • Assist in the design of systems improvements, including systems flow diagrams of information movement, work load statistics, projections, computer oriented controls, data files for use in computer systems, input documents and output report formats and media. • Evaluate the overall performance of the Bank's core system mid-range computers, and make recommendations that will avoid the Bank experiencing negative impact due to performance bottlenecks. Non-Essential Functions: 10% • Perform special projects and research as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned. Senior Systems Engineer Performs all duties listed above with the addition of the following: Applications/Systems: 90% • Provide technical support for the Bank’s network of ATMs. • Design, write, test, and install core system programs on an as-needed basis, in accordance with the Bank’s change management policies & procedures. Current languages available are RPG, CL, and COBOL. • Support and configure PC tools used by the computer operators. • Create and maintain policies and procedures using MS Excel, MS Word, and Zavanta. • Install, monitor, and update core operating system on the Bank's core system computers. • Design of systems improvements, including systems flow diagrams of information movement, work load statistics, projections, computer oriented controls, data files for use in computer systems, input documents and output report formats/media. • Diagnose problems in the Core system and PC environment. • Define and run projects as part of the Bank’s Project Management paradigm.
